Wenn ssh eh schon vorhanden ist, würde ich zu rsync over ssh raten.
Funktioniert bei mir prima und effektiv.

Dank Cygwin kann man jetzt auch unter Windows einen ssh-Server
installieren, wenn das eine Zielplattform ist.
